The term ‘Analogue Photography’ refers to photography using an analogue camera and film. A roll of film is loaded into the camera and the magic begins once you start clicking. Light interacts with the chemicals in the film and an image is recorded. The pictures collected in your film roll come to life when the film is processed in a photo lab. Analogue film photography was one of the only forms of photography up until the mid to late 90's before digital hit the streets.  

Analogue film is unique. It has a sense of softness and slowness, it is nostalgic, highly emotive and almost cinematic... like stills from a movie. It is beautifully flawed and grainy and rustic and is the perfect option for capturing intimate moments. Sometimes a film photograph looks like it has a fabric overlay, a gritty surface, or even a dreamy smoothness. The depth of this texture is a delicate feature that is easily overlooked.

Film often leaves you wandering why and what it is that makes you love an image so much and that is the true magic of film. 



My style for any kind of photoshoot is calm and candid (and at times silly! Particularly with the little ones). Think having a cuppa in the backyard getting to know each other, only me with a camera in hand. I shoot intuitively, always seeking to connect with those I encounter while searching for those in between moments that make life so utterly beautiful. I am interested in capturing the feeling as well as the everyday mundane or life as we know it and transforming those moments into a poetic story-tale for those I photograph to hold onto forever. I will always go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and at ease and I will  gently guide you when needed.

* disclaimer * please don't worry about your children being wild on the day (who blames them, photoshoots are exciting right!?) I am here to tell you it doesn't matter if your child is a wild child or a shy bear, I will still capture the magic regardless, just as they are, being there gorgeous little authentic selves
