so, what is analogue film and why choose it?

The term ‘Analogue Photography’ refers to photography using an analogue camera and film. A roll of film is loaded into the camera and the magic begins once you start clicking. Light interacts with the chemicals in the film and an image is recorded. The pictures collected in your film roll come to life when it is processed in a photo lab. Analogue film photography was one of the only forms of photography up until the mid to late 1990's before digital photography was introduced.

Analogue film has a sense of softness and slowness, it is nostalgic, highly emotive and almost cinematic... like stills from a movie. It is charismatic and beautifully flawed. Sometimes a film photograph looks like it has a fabric overlay, a gritty surface, or even a dreamy smoothness. The depth of this texture is a delicate feature that is easily overlooked.

Film often leaves you wandering why and what it is that makes you love an image so much and that is the true magic of film.

My style for any kind of photoshoot is fun, candid and at times silly! Particularly with the little ones. I shoot intuitively, always seeking to connect with those I encounter while searching for those in between moments that make life so utterly beautiful. I am interested in capturing the feeling as well as the everyday mundane or life as we know it and transforming those moments into a poetic story-tale for those I photograph to hold onto forever. I will always go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and at ease and I will  gently guide you when needed.
